HOSTS Learning (Help One Student To Succeed)

This nationally recognized and proven learning curriculum enables students to perform at or above grade level. Become a mentor and spend time with a student working through an individualized curriculum in their area of need: Language Arts (Reading), Math or English Language Development. All programs ask for a commitment of one hour a week for the traditional school year. Choose the program, location, day and time that best fit you!

M.A.D. House Sports (Make a Difference)

Athletic fundamentals, life skills and spiritual truths are taught through positive team basketball experiences. Coach or assist with a team of 10-15 youth ages 12-18.


Jobs for Life

As part of n2ns Employment Program and ongoing partnership with Jobs for Life, we seek to pair mentors with adults working through a Bible-based character, job readiness curriculum. Vocational planning, career/skills assessment, job search, resumes development, conflict resolution, interview practice and resource/employment round tables are additional key components to the course.


Community Garden

Throughout the year a community garden is maintained by members of the community through a partnership with the Interfaith Food Shuttle. Soil science, nutrition and cooking classes are also held in conjunction with the garden at different times during the school year in partnership with NCSU and the Food Shuttle. All food grown is harvested and enjoyed here in the community.


Business Partnerships

Neighbor To Neighbor wishes to partner with businesses for site visits and professional mentor relationships for our students in Students Online for Success(SOLS), UpWard College Preparation, and the Student Employment Program.


Computer Lab & Homework Lab

The computer and homework labs offer a variety of enrichment services to the community such as education, research and homework support. Volunteer to help with homework or teach students research techniques, graphic software or computer basics. Choose an hour and day that works best for your schedule!
